Devon Perry makes her Beef & Boards debut in the role of Carole King for the Beautiful musical. Let’s hope this is not her last show on that stage.
Perry is stunning as she sings and plays her way through the show that highlights the life of one of the 1960s most prolific song writers. That’s Perry playing the piano when she is sitting at it and her voice is nothing short of beautiful.
Perry commands the stage early and often and carries the cast in two and a half hours of musical entertainment.
Beautiful tells the song of Carole King and how she went from a reluctant song writer to performing one of the top albums of all-time in her 1971 album Tapestry. If you don’t know the story of Caroile King, this show will make you smile and have your toes tapping most of the night.
Beautiful will be on stage at Beef & Boards through the end of March. It is definitely worth your time.
