PORTLAND, OR — A 20-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after a collision with a vehicle west of Forest Park, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash happened at about 10:45 a.m. along Germantown Road at the Northwest Kaiser Road intersection. Investigators closed several nearby rural intersections while the East County Vehicular Crimes Team worked the scene.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the location of the crash. Officials said the driver of the other vehicle was a 45-year-old man.

Vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided

Investigators said a 2011 Kia Sportage was traveling westbound on Germantown Road. The motorcycle was heading eastbound at the time of the collision.

The impact involved the Kia and the motorcycle, though authorities have not released additional details about exactly how the crash unfolded. The sheriff’s office has not said whether any other vehicles were involved.

The intersection is in a rural part of Multnomah County, west of the Forest Park area. Deputies focused their response there soon after the crash was reported.

Deputies say impairment does not appear to be a factor
