Speedway’s varsity boys basketball team picked up their second Indiana Crossroads Conference win of the season with a 57-45 win over Cascade on Saturday.

Eliminating turnovers and unselfish play were two key factors in the win. Speedway turned the ball over just four times while generating 13 assists in the win. Eight of nine players that played scored for the Sparkplugs led by senior Nate Matelic with 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Junior Devin Robinson chipped in 11 points and Landon Short added ten points and seven rebounds.

The Sparkplugs (2-12, 2-2 ICC) have two road games this week beginning tomorrow when the varsity and JV teams travel to Martinsville (5-10. 2-3 Mid-State). On Saturday, the Sparkplugs will travel to Lebanon to face a talented Tigers squad (14-
4) that won the Sagamore conference with a perfect 7-0 slate in conference play.
